WELCOME!
Montreal is one of the largest cities in Canada and is predominantly French speaking. As the City states, “Our desire to make Montréal a greener, fairer and more inclusive city is reflected in our administration's priorities.” Whether it be closing streets to cars so that people can enjoy this public space for social and economic activities, building a safe network of bicycle lanes, or even rethinking back lanes as green spaces for play (see a previous award-winning ICTH abstract HERE!).
The Interuniversity Research Centre on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation (CIRRELT) is excited to be partnering with IPATH to deliver the Montreal In-Person Transit Stop Meeting of the International Conference on Transport and Health. We look forward to welcoming you to Montreal on the 16th and 17th of June 2022.

Montreal In-Person Transit Stop Meeting
On the 16 June, following a Keynote presentation and conference presentations, a walking tour will be given of Montreal initiatives to improve the quality of life of its citizens through returning public space to more social uses.
On the 17 June, along with presentations, a panel discussion will examine how considerations to health are changing how transport is seen in cities, how cities will change, and ideas on how to overcome barriers to those changes. The conference will end with a bicycle tour of Montreal’s REV (sounds like “dream” in French) – an express bicycle network. The tour will be given by Bartek Komorowski, co-author of Aménager pour les piétons et les cyclistes (Technical guide, Designing for Pedestrians and Cyclists – he promises an English version to come!).
